What’s The Best Double Umbrella Stroller?

If you’re a mom to more than one child, you understand how necessary it is to have a reliable double umbrella stroller to get your kids around. In this post, I do all the hard work for you to help you figure out which one could work best for you and your family.

Believe it or not, in this post I cover strollers that can work for all types of parents. Whether you’re the parent that likes to work out, interested in all the bells and whistles that you can provide your kid, or just looking for the bare necessities, there’s a stroller listed here that can suit your needs.

First you need to understand what to look for when buying a stroller.

What To Look For

Before running out to the store though, it’s important to have a checklist of what to look for. With so many different models on the market, it’s easy to get caught up in the ooooh’s and ahhh’s that are showcased.
As a busy mom who is always on the go, some of the features that I look for are safety, how easy it is to pack the stroller up, how much weight it can hold, storage, and of course design. Packing and unpacking the stroller is a major thing especially if you don’t have a lot of space in your car. Of course how much weight the stroller can hold is also important since the stroller is supposed to hold more than one child.

Safety is the top feature to look for when it comes to purchasing something for my baby. It’s my top priority to make sure that my children are safe at all times. I don’t mind to spend extra money if it means that my child will be safer.  There were 1,300 incidents related to strollers between January 2008 to June 2013. In fact, four of these led to deaths. So safety should be of the utmost importance for all parents when stroller shopping.

Another feature that I look for when buying a new stroller is storage. If my kid is going to be in there for a while, or I’m going on a long errand, the stroller needs to be able to hold my things. I have enough activities, snacks, etc to manage as a mom and holding on to extra bags and a stroller just isn’t an option for me.

Design is the last feature that I look for as it isn’t the most important but it matters because we all want to look good. If I’m going to have this stroller all over town, I want to look stylish and show off the newest designs since this is something that I will be using often.

Graco DuoGlider Click Connect Stroller

The Graco DuoGlider Click Connect Stroller has been rated as an Amazon top seller so that alone speaks for itself. What’s so special that everyone is buying this stroller? Let’s dive into the features to find out why. The stadium style seating makes this stroller unique. Whichever child is sitting in the back is still able to see in front of them with this feature. The rear seat also reclines completely for when your child needs some rest.

Another feature that makes this stroller stand out is the click connect. This stroller can accept two Graco SnugRide Click Connect infant car seats. This is very helpful feature if you are in a rush and don’t have time to take your babies completely out of their car seats or it’s just a quick run inside of the grocery store. Most strollers have a recline feature but this one’s recline is a little different. The rear seat can recline completely flat to act as a bassinet. This is very helpful if you have a small child that you will be using this stroller for.

Safety is at the forefront for this stroller too. It comes with a 3 or 5 point harness system that you can continue to use as your child gets older. This alone makes this stroller worth the $150! It carries two children up to 40 pounds each. It is on the heavier side weighing 29 pounds but it makes sense since it’s also able to carry two car seats. The one hand fold definitely comes in hand here.

For the Graco DuoGlider Click Connect Stroller, everyone agrees that it is sturdy but lightweight and easy to fold up. However, some users have noted that it’s a little tricky learning how to unlock it and have even experienced some difficulty getting the car seat in the backseat of this stroller. Other than those things, this stroller has been hit hence the #1 Best Seller rating that it has.

J is for Jeep Brand Scout Double Stroller

The J is for Jeep Brand Scout Double Stroller has been rated as Amazon’s Choice and there are plenty of reasons why. Safety is at the forefront with this model. You can’t beat that with a price tag coming in at $98.  The reflective material on this stroller stands out to me. It makes sure that your little ones can be seen even at night. It also has soft shoulder pads to add to it’s safety package.

I’d say that this stroller is also an Amazon’s Choice because it can fit through 30” doors and is lightweight. With two kids you don’t need extra trouble just trying to fit through a regular door. It also weighs only 18 pounds so it’s a stroller that will be easy to fold and get out of the way. Each seat holds a child up to 35 pounds. In addition to the reflective material, it also has a 5 point safety harness system.

The J is for Jeep Brand Scout Double Stroller, people are in love with the storage options and how slim it is when it’s folded up. While all strollers boast about having a lot of storage, it looks like this one stands the test. The storage options would definitely have me interested in using this stroller for family vacations. On the downside, this stroller has had issues with the lock making a click noise. While the click noise didn’t impact the way that it moved or worked, I can see it being kind of annoying. Luckily some people’s click noise on the lock eventually went away. While it does feature the umbrella on this stroller, there have been complaints about the canopy being bigger or having an extender option so the shade can be longer. Another issue is using the recline feature. It seems like it’s best to adjust the seat before you put your kid in, otherwise it kind be difficult to do.

Kolcraft Cloud Side-by-Side Double Umbrella Stroller

The Kolcraft Cloud Side-by-Side Double Umbrella Stroller is a top seller and it’s probably due to the price and the Cool-Climate technology. The Cool-Climate has a mesh that exposes increased air circulation and rolls up to create a head rest. It’s also priced at about $90 which is a deal!

The kiddos will also love that each seat can independently recline and not bother the other sibling. This stroller is a little different than the others listed so far with its canopy style hoods. Safety is still a priority with this double stroller because of the 3-point safety system.  It’s also only 21 pounds which means it’s super lightweight and easy to maneuver. The expandable canopies will also be a hit with the kids so they can make sure they get enough shade. It also comes with a one year warranty so no fear if anything happens to go wrong. This stroller can carry up to 35 pounds per child.

For the Kolcraft Cloud Side-by-Side Double Umbrella stroller, it’s the mesh material that gave it most of its positive reviews. It really does work and parents have noted that it comes in handy when on trips to the zoo, park, or hot climate locations. The main issue with this stroller is the lack of storage.  It’s only got a cup holder so that’s about all that it will hold. Some users have noted that you can still put a bag on the handle but even that’s problematic. Healthychildren.org suggests not to do this because it can make your stroller tip backward.

Something else to consider when looking at this stroller, are the triple action brakes. They require three pedals to be engaged and because of this, some parents have tried to take shortcuts by just not properly setting the brakes. This is troublesome when it comes to safety in my opinion! Other cons to note is that the recline was slight and there’s just a simple lap belt so beware if your little ones are on the wild side. Parents have also noted that you have to go straight through a doorway rather than an angle because of how big the stroller is.

Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger Stroller

The Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger Stroller is for the parent who likes to get places quickly and maybe burn a few calories while getting there. The jogger strollers are trendy right now and why not join in on the fun if you have more than one child to cart around? This trend will cost you though at price point of $170.

What I love most about this stroller is that it can carry each child up to 50 lbs. That’s significantly more than most double umbrella strollers on the market. Being able to hold this much weight, means that you will be able to get more use out of this for a longer period of time compared to other strollers.

The wheels are also a standout feature with their durable all-terrain pneumatic rubber bicycle tires. These tires can take you anywhere from simple errands to nature trails. There’s also a foot activated brake system as well. This stroller is on the heavier side weighing 32 pounds. So it looks like there’s going to be some give and take for being able to jog with it. It also comes with a five-point safety harness.

Many parents are talking about how the Baby Trend Expedition Double Jogger Stroller glides so easily with just one hand. This is a real pro when the stroller can carry up to 100 pounds. It’s good to know that it can actually work for what it says that it will work for – jogging.  What’s interesting here is the wheels. Some people rave about the wheels because of the material that they are made out of while others don’t like the wheels because the front one keeps coming loose. So on one hand, the wheels last longer because of how they are built but to actually assemble the wheel and keep it on seems to be the struggle here.

Most people seem to get over the front wheel with the help of some extra muscles. However, it’s still something that sticks out to me because what if you don’t have extra help or the right tools? Please be sure to take your time when assembling this stroller! Safety first! Another point of interest for this stroller is where you will be using it. BabyCenter.com points out that this stroller is hard to get into elevators, up and down stairs, and through stores. So it seems like this is a stroller that is strictly for outdoors and not the hustle and bustle of daily activities.

Joovy Scooter X2 Double Stroller

The Joovy Scooter X2 Double Stroller’s standout feature would have to be how easy it is to fold it and it’s large canopy. It can be done with just one hand and even has an option to take off the bumper bar. No wonder it’s been called the SUV of strollers!

It also has two cup holders in contrast to most of the stroller’s I’ve listed so far that only feature one cup holder. There’s still more room for more than one parent with two zippered pockets to put your keys, snacks, phones, etc. The more the merrier right? This Joovy stroller also comes with one-step linked parking brakes. While this is convenient, Healthychildren.org makes a point to be sure that your child cannot reach the release lever. Other than this, these parking brakes provide an extra level of safety for this stroller option.

Lastly, this stroller has a rain cover that can be bought separately. I love that this is even an option because I’ve definitely been out before and got caught in the rain. If I’m at the zoo, this is a great option to use so I don’t waste my money trying to pack the kids back up in the car just because it started raining. Joovy provides a lot with their stroller so it’s shouldn’t come as a surprise that it’s priced at $280. This is the pricier option out of all of the strollers that I have reviewed. Depending on the color that you choose, you can find it at a lower price on Amazon.com.

This stroller can hold a child up to 45 pounds so it’s a little more than some of the others listed here. It’s also 32 pounds but thankfully it comes with a one-hand fold option so you don’t have to use all of your muscles to put it up. Joovy is also a family owned company so while they aren’t a well-known name like Graco and Evenflo, they bring a unique perspective to the industry. They’ve only been around since 2005 but their quickly picking up popularity amongst parents as a lifestyle brand.

With the Joovy Scooter X2 Double Stroller, users seem to appreciate that it doesn’t take up much space, has a decent amount of storage, and is easy to maneuver. While there is lots of storage, many people have asked for a front tray in an upgraded model. I think that would be useful too especially for younger children. They do have a cup holder but it isn’t a hard one. It can create a few problems when the chair is in the recline mode. Their mesh cup holder seems to only be good for big bottles.

Depending on the needs of your family, one of these double strollers will work great for you. If you’re into design, Joovy will probably be the choice for you since it’s a lifestyle brand or perhaps the J is for Jeep stroller.  If you’re looking for a stroller that serves multiple purposes and gives you some convenience, I’d suggest the Graco DuoGlider Click Connect stroller or the Kolcraft Cloud Side-by-Side stroller. The Baby Trend Expedition Jogger stroller would also fit in here since it does allow you to get a workout in, just watch that front wheel.

If you’re looking to save money, look at the Kolcraft model as it is only $90. If you’ve got extra money to spare, I’d get the Joovy stroller because it has a lot of features that aren’t necessities but are very convenient.  I’d also like to mention that there are other products that you can add to your stroller such as extra seat cushioning, bug protectors, etc. to meet the extra needs that you may have. This is a great option if you don’t have the money that a fancy stroller similar to Joovy might cost. Just buying the extra add-ons may save you quite a bit of money in the long run.

At the end of the day, it’s important that you take your time and figure out what you need most. Don’t stress out over it or get overwhelmed with these options. Just think, where will I be going most of the time when I need to use my stroller? What activities will I be doing? I’d even test drive a few in store before the big purchase. There are many options out on the market and I hope that I’ve saved you some time and research with this post. Be sure to head over to Amazon to check out all of these options and see for yourself why some of these have been rated Amazon’s Choice and Best Sellers.
