8 Best Jogging Strollers Under 200

best jogging strollers under 200

Parenting and self-care — can they both exist at the same time? They can, but there’s a secret to it: preparation. Having the right gear is a part of this preparation, but there’s another problem: jogging strollers are expensive. Fear not, dear reader, for I have found eight of the best jogging strollers under 200. Now you don’t have to decide between being a kick-ass parent and a kick-ass person who values self-care.

Key Features

Baby Safety & Comfort

Safety first, always. Things to look out for include 5-point harness and presence of incline. Joggers are typically best suited for babies 5 or 6 months and above, as they can sit upright on their own, although a few exceptions are suitable for younger babies. The sun canopy is a huge safety factor, as you don’t want your child overly exposed to the sun. A wrist strap and working brakes for downhill are a must so that mom or dad always have control of the stroller. Lastly, the bigger the wheel, the smoother the ride. Many parents also opt for a model with a child’s tray – whether that’s a necessity is up to you. Some parents are happy to trade it for a leaner, simpler model.

To swivel or not to swivel? Whether your front wheel locks or swivels entirely depends on how you intend on using your stroller. The swivel is a feature better suited for walkers; runners need not worry about having this feature. Ergonomic handles are a must, and of course suspension. Being able to handle a variety of types of terrain isn’t just good for baby – it’s a necessity for mom or dad, too.

Being lightweight and easy to store is what really clinches it for a good jogging stroller. Does it fold once or twice? How many hands does it take to fold? Will this fit into your car easily? These are all things you’ll need to ask yourself as you’re shopping for your jogger. Other things that matter among parents include easy assembly, cup holders and adequate storage of phone and keys. How much these things matter to you will depend on your individual situation.

8 Best Jogging Strollers Under 200

Here’s a more in-depth look at each stoller, based on baby safety/comfort, performance for the parent and convenience. Whether you’re a non-jogger just looking for a smoother ride or plan to hit the trails, there’s an affordable jogger for everyone.

Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller

Among jogging strollers under $200, the Baby Trend Expedition Jogger Stroller is a best-seller with a very high satisfaction rate. The front wheel can lock or swivel – your choice. It’s part of a travel system, so you’ll need either the Baby Trend Flex-Lock or Inertia Infant Car Seat. Parent and child trays both included, and the child seat reclines. Five-point safety harness, tethering, and canopy are all included. With a sweet JPMA certification to top it all off, I feel like this model has all the makings of what you want in a jogger. That said, the tires may need to be inflated a lot, so if you go with this model consider getting an air pump as well.

Graco Fastaction Fold Jogger Click Connect Stroller

Those who own or are considering the popular Graco Click Connect car seat will appreciate the Graco Fastaction Fold Jogger Click Connect Stroller. Boasting a “one-second, one-hand” fold, this front wheel also has an optional front-wheel lock or you can swivel. Includes parent and child trays, reclining seating, and the five-point harness. If you’re around the 5’ range, this model may be too tall for you, but otherwise I consider it a pretty solid choice.

Baby Trend Range Jogging Stroller

You’ll quickly notice that Baby Trend joggers dominate this list – affordable joggers is a space where this brand really shines. The Baby Trend Range Jogging Stroller has all the necessary musts, including optional lock or swivel, reclining seat and five-point safety harness. It’s smaller and lighter than the Baby Trend Expedition (which we covered above). On the downside, it only accommodates children up to 3 years. For a few dollars more, the Expedition covers you until your child is 5.

Baby Trend Xcel Jogger Stroller

Another of the Baby Trend family, the Xcel is recommended for baby six months and older. The front wheel can be locked or swiveled and there are parent and children trays with cup holders. The five-point harness and reclining seat position are both present in this model as well. I like this one because it’s lightweight, easy to assemble and great for the price. However, if you’re actually using this for serious jogging, you may have some wobbling issues. There’s also the possibility you could be inflating tires a lot, and you may find yourself needing more storage. While this is definitely a great no-frills choice, there also are better-selling Baby Trend strollers on the market in this price range.

J is for Jeep Brand Adventure All-Terrain Jogging Stroller

Children love this stroller, which also gets the JPMA seal of approval. It’s compatible with certain types of Chicco, Graco and Evenflo seats, making it a versatile choice for those who have already invested in a car seat and may not be interested in a full travel system. The Jeep Adventure All-Terrain Jogging Stroller, however, seems better suited for everyday use and walkers rather than serious joggers and runners. I also think it’s better suited for those who don’t mind putting in a little elbow grease here and there when a bolt needs tightening or a flat needs fixed. That said, I’m calling it a great bang for your buck.

Schwinn Interval Jogging Stroller

This self-described “jogging stroller actually designed for jogging” gets high marks for being comfortable, easy to use and well-built. The suspension is great, but in return it’s a little too bulky for some people’s taste. However, if you’re a serious jogger then this may be worth the trade-off for you, as it can be hard to find an under-$200 jogger that isn’t going to have wobbling issues when you pick up the speed. An adjustable handle and UPF 50+ rated canopy are a couple of other additional touches that make the Schwinn Interval Jogging Stroller a respectable choice.

Evenflo Victory Jogging Stroller

While the Evenflo Victory Jogging Stroller is easy to use and a great value, it’s only compatible with the brand’s Embrace Infant Car Seat. While this can be limiting, if you haven’t committed to a car seat yet, you may still be able to take advantage of this model. Boasting to be 10% lighter than the competition, the Evenflo gets the JPMA nod as well as storage, trays and the other usual bells and whistles.

Baby Trend Stealth Jogging Stroller

The final of the Baby Trend joggers in this article, the Stealth is a no-frills model that’s easy to maneuver and use. There’s no child’s tray, which may be a deal-breaker for many. However, if you’re looking for something to get the job done, Baby Trend has a good track record when it comes to affordable jogging strollers. This one’s for children 6 months and up and requires the Baby Trend Infant Car Seat.

Because of their bigger wheels and three-wheel design, jogging strollers are easier to maneuver than standard strollers. For this reason, many non-jogging parents opt for these strollers as well. And because of their price, it’s a reasonable upgrade for those who aren’t running enthusiasts who may be more included to spend more. It’s also a good choice if you’re a beginner runner and don’t want to make a huge investment just yet. Have an extra passenger? Check out these best double jogging strollers!
