Medela bottles are preferred by many parents for breastmilk storage and for feeding. They are durable, easy to use and easy to clean, so you can’t ask for much more from a bottle. If you are looking for a bottle warmer that will work with your Medela bottles, you may want to consider the options below to find one that works best for you and your baby. Breastfeeding ain’t easy, but something as small as a good bottle warmer can make a real difference! If you plan to pump, be sure to check out our top manual pump picks!
Does it Work?
If you’re counting on a bottle warmer to work quickly in the middle of the night, you want it to work. It’s not worth the money if it doesn’t do what it says – warm the bottle quickly and safely so baby can eat as soon as possible.
Easy to Use
You don’t want to be reading the user manual while your baby is screaming for his or her bottle. You want a bottle warmer that can hold your Medela bottles and warm the breastmilk to the desired temperature without having a computer programming degree.
Some bottle warmers have dual functionality as coolers, and many accept various types and sizes of baby bottles. If you buy a bottle warmer, you want the bottles you already have to work with it.
Best Bottle Warmer for Medela Bottles
Dr. Brown’s Bottle Warmer
This is one of two on the list I have owned, and it gets two thumbs up from me. Dr. Brown’s is a reliable company who also makes baby bottles. This bottle warmer is easy to use with basic operation instructions and an easy-touch keypad and a one-button start function. It offers audio and visual alerts when the warming cycle is complete. In addition, it also has an automatic shut-off and has cycle memory, so it will remember your preferred heating time, although you can adjust the heating time as needed.
Dr. Brown’s Bottle Warmer uses electric steam to warm up baby’s bottle within minutes. It can also be used for food jars and sippy cups, and it accepts just about every bottle on the market today. You will have to refill the water in this model, but you can warm several bottles before you’ll have to refill the water tank.
The First Years Night Cravings Bottle Warmer & Cooler
The First Years Night Cravings Bottle Warmer and Cooler is just that – a warmer and cooler for your baby’s bottles. This was the other bottle warmer I owned, and I have to say I’m a little more partial to this one (although both were lovely). Honestly though? both The First Years and Dr. Brown’s fit the bill – they both get the job done and are very similar in functionality and design. Like Dr. Brown’s, this bottle warmer will fit just about any type of bottle, so you don’t have to worry about if your Medela bottles will fit. Rest assured, they will, and so will sippy cups and baby food jars. This model also has an automatic shut-off and is about the size of a coffee maker, so it is rather compact and won’t take up a lot of room.
The First Years Night Cravings Bottle Warmer and Cooler is powered by electric, and the insulated cooling compartment can keep two 8-ounce bottles cool for up to 8 hours. No refrigerant needed, just add water. This unit also comes with a night light, and it should not be used with glass bottles.
Kiinde Kozii Bottle Warmer and Breast Milk Warmer
The Kiinde Kozii Bottle Warmer and Breast Milk Warmer is on the Amazon Best-sellers list, and it is not hard to see why. It offers safe, easy warming specifically designed to gently thaw are warm breast milk as recommended by the CDC and USDA. This bottle warmer is unique in that it does not require water refills or measurements with each use. It has a timer that is easy to use, and it allows you to see how much time has passed and how much time you have left until you can feed that baby!
The Kiinde Kozii Bottle Warmer and Breast Milk Warmer also has an automatic shut-off built in, and a Universal Warming Chamber that can safely accommodate breast milk, formula, storage bags (frozen or thawed), liner bottles, plastic, glass, and food jars. Basically, it can thaw and warm just about anything you will ever need thawing or warming! This bottle warmer uses low-temperature warming, which preserves and protects the nutrients in the milk or food. We all know babies need those nutrients to develop. This model does not use steam or electric heating – it uses convective heating that is uniform, consistent, convenient and fast.
Because of its warming process and safety features, the Kiinde Kozii Bottle Warmer and Breast Milk Warmer wins hands-down. This model and Dr. Brown’s model are similar in price, but the Kiinde Kozii is slightly higher in quality and function than Dr. Brown’s, and the unique heating function of the Kiinde just cannot be beat.
The First Years Night Cravings Bottle Warmer & Cooler comes in a close third, but it is convenient that this model has a cooling option as well, which makes it easy for storage of breastmilk or formula so you have the bottle right there when you need it.
Regardless of your choice, any of these bottle warmers will work great with your Medela baby bottles.
